Privacy Policy

Last updated December 28, 2025 · Applies to the STG Health Platform, including SaskADHD. We take our commitment to privacy seriously and strive to comply with Canada's PIPEDA and Saskatchewan's Health Information Protection Act (HIPA). By using the STG Health Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Policy.

1. What this policy covers

The STG Health Platform facilitates telehealth in Saskatchewan — counselling, psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and, if needed, care by a nurse practitioner — delivered by healthcare professionals licensed to practice in Saskatchewan. It is intended for Saskatchewan residents. General mental-health content on the site is information only and does not constitute or replace healthcare services. We may amend this Policy to reflect changes in law, our practices, or the Platform — check back periodically.

2. What we collect and why

To provide care, authorized healthcare professionals collect personal identifying information (name, date of birth, contact details) and personal health information (health history, screening and assessment responses, treatment records). Payment information is processed by secure payment processors, and technical data (device, IP, activity logs) is used for security and platform improvement. Information is used to verify eligibility and identity, schedule, assess, diagnose, treat, coordinate prescriptions, bill (including direct billing to third-party payers such as NIHB or your insurer), gather feedback, and meet legal and regulatory requirements. We do not record the audio or video of any telehealth session. In a potential emergency, your clinician may attempt to contact the emergency contact you provided.

3. Pharmacy and third-party providers

If a nurse practitioner prescribes medication, we may collaborate with a Saskatchewan pharmacy partner for fulfillment — with your consent before any prescription details are disclosed. If you are covered by the Saskatchewan Drug Plan or another recognized benefit, dispensing information may be recorded in accordance with provincial regulations (e.g., eHealth Saskatchewan). Third-party service providers (secure data hosting, payment processing) access personal information only as necessary to perform their functions and must comply with this Policy and Saskatchewan privacy law. Staff delivering health-related services such as group coaching receive mandatory privacy and security training.

4. Storage, retention, and deletion

Personal information is stored on secure servers located in Canada (or within North America) with appropriate safeguards. Under HIPA and professional regulations, medical records must be retained for at least 10 years from your last service — or longer where legally required — even after an account is closed. You may request account closure or deletion of specific details in writing to [email protected]; we aim to respond within 30 days and will tell you if certain records must legally remain on file.

5. Access and correction

You may update basic contact details through your account, request corrections to healthcare records, and submit a written request to review any personal information we have collected, used, or disclosed about you. We will provide it in an understandable form as required by law; if we cannot meet your request within 30 days, we will explain why.

6. When information is disclosed

We disclose personal information only: to service providers who support the Platform; to your emergency contact if we believe you are experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency; when required by law, court order, or regulatory mandate; or — with safeguards and confidentiality requirements — to a potential acquirer in a merger or sale of assets. We do not release your medical records to any external healthcare professional without your explicit consent, unless required by law. You may request a copy of your medical record at any time within the retention period.

7. Consent and accountability

By using the Platform you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information as outlined here; where required, we request explicit consent, and you may withdraw it subject to legal or contractual restrictions (such as mandatory retention). STG Health is responsible for ensuring your health information is handled in compliance with HIPA and PIPEDA.

8. Safeguards — and your part

We use physical, organizational, and technological measures to protect against loss, theft, and unauthorized access; only those with a legitimate need to know (your treating clinician, specific support staff) can access your information, and all employees and contractors complete privacy and security training. No electronic system is fully secure — please use a strong, unique password, keep login details confidential, log out after sessions, and lock your devices.

9. Cookies, de-identified data, and links

The Platform may use cookies and similar technologies to understand usage and improve experience; you can control cookies in your browser, though disabling them may affect functionality. We may create de-identified, aggregated data — which does not identify you — for analytics, improvement, and permissible research. Links to external websites are provided for convenience only; we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
